Welcome to my blog, where I’ll talk about the challenges and random situations we all face when raising kids, balancing work and home while trying to keep our sanity while we cross our fingers and pray it all works out.
A few months ago, I was sitting on my deck with my morning coffee, reflecting on the last year or so of my life. As I crafted a mental list of events I consider significant, I realized three things: 1. Every event involved at least one of my kids, and 2. Deep breaths and a sense of humor have saved my sanity, and 3. Herding kittens might be easier than managing kids, work, and life.
So while I was musing over the list in my head, I conjured up a little game I call “Parenting Bingo” and made myself a Bingo card from a free website. Wondering which of my friends had similar adventures in parenting, I shared it with my mom friends, who agreed that the average mom’s card wouldn’t include most of the craziness on mine. I’ll add that these women also know my kids, and if you know, you know! Don’t get me wrong. I love my kids, but being their go-to parent is an adventure into the unknown for sure. They are mostly fearless and brave and involve themselves in more unusual situations than their peers, either by chance, poor choices or acts of God.
My four kids are four and a half years apart. That’s right- my oldest was in Pre-K when my youngest was born. I know chaos and my spirited kids know how to bring it. Not going to lie, some days I have all the answers and some days, I’m flying by the seat of my pants, wondering why I’m in the grocery store for the fourth time this week or why the dogs are staring me down. They are intuitive and hear every conversation in my house, so they must be trying to tell me something. I try to stay organized like a Pinterest mom, but then I forget to update the cute chalkboard organizer I hung on the wall to keep the family organized. I can’t count the times I’ve told my kids to write their requirements on a post-it note and stick it on my coffee maker so I don’t forget. I’m running on caffeine and post-it notes.
So follow me if you’re curious to know what’s on my Bingo card, you need a laugh or you want reassurance that it’s all going to work out on the days that balancing work and life and parenting feels like you’re herding kittens into a box.

Love you! This is amazing. So beyond proud of my friend. IYKYK and I certainly do. You somehow have mastered the art if being multiple places at one time. You manage to make sure all 4 of your kids get everything they need, no matter how exhausted you are. Plus a cake. You inspire me!
